Descrizione

Questo pesce sudamericano, come l'Abramites hypselonotus, adotta una posizione di nuoto a testa in giù a causa delle sue peculiari abitudini alimentari che gli vengono imposte dalle zone che frequenta.

Diffusione

Questo pesce abita il bacino del fiume Magdalena in Colombia . Come il suo parente, Abramites hypselonotus , il picúo abita generalmente rocciose, poco profonde, fiumi in rapido movimento e torrenti.
